The road to Rwanda 2016 continues this weekend with most teams starting their campaign while others were playing another round of fixtures.
For all the games across the continent, only Uganda Cranes and Burundi earned victory away from home as Ismael Kiyonga reviews the fixtures.
Goals from Erisa Sekisambu (brace) and Farouk Miya ensured Uganda put one foot in the next round as the beat Tanzania Taifa Stars 3-0 at Aman stadium, Zanzibar.
The victory is a replica of the previous qualification campaign where Uganda won away 1-0 before beating Tanzania 3-1 at Namboole.
The Cranes will need to avoid a 4-0 loss at Namboole to set up a date up with Sudan in the round.
In Addis, Ethiopia edged Kenya 2-0 thanks to goals from Aschalew Girma and Gatoch Panom. Harambee Stars had an opportunity to pull one back towards end of the game but Kevin Kimani missed a penalty.
Ten-man Mauritius were 3-0 losers at the hands of South Africa in Johannesburg with the hosts scoring through Thamsanqa Gabuza whilst Siphelele Ntshangase netted a brace.
In other fixtures, Djibouti 1-2 Burundi, Lesotho and Botswana settled for a barren draw in Maseru, Senegal beat Gambia 3-1 in Dakar, Mozambique were the biggest winners over the weekend with 5-1 victory over Seychelles, Zimbabwe overcame Comoros with a 2-0 victory, Swaziland and Angola drew 2-2 while Namibia beat Zambia 2-1.
Elsewhere, Mauritania beat Sierra Leone 2-1and Libya beat Tunisia 1-0.
The return matches will be played on the weekend of 3-5 July this year.
