Thailand Woodball Open: 23rd – 27th June 2015 Bangkok,

Thailand Uganda’s celebrated number one woodball player, Lilian Zawedde has led a national team of three ladies to represent the country at the Thailand Open International Woodball Championships due to run from June 23 to 27, 20015 in Thailand.

Zawedde will lead Uganda’s team of three at the Thailand open. Rose Matovu and debutant Jesica Nabbana (all players from Ndejje University) are the two other players on the team.

The team arrived safely on Monday in Thailand and was in high spirits to embark on national duty.

Zawedde said she will rely on her international experience to go for top honors and also improve on her recent 12th international ranking at the HongKong Open Championships.

While in Thailand Team Uganda will deliver to the International Woodball Federation (IWbF) a progress report on the woodball production project from the Uganda Woodball Federation (UWbF).

The team is expected to airlift a consignment of 50 sets of aluminum mallets donation from IWbF for the Ugandan market in exchange with 100 wooden sets made in Uganda in in line with the technical cooperation agreement signed this year between IWbF and UWbF.

The 100 sets of equipment made in Uganda is geared towards development of woodball in Africa.

IWbF assigned Uganda the role to develop and spread the sport in Africa.
