Duncan Mugabe had a mixed bag of fortune at the Zimbabwe F2 Futures tennis tournament at the Harare Sports Club in Zimbabwe going down in the first round to the top seed Tucker Vorster of South Africa in straight sets 6-1, 6-2.

Mugabe teamed up with his Burundi partner Hassan Ndayishimiye to dispatch the Zimbabwe pairing of Benjamin Lock and John Courtney Lock 6-4, 6-3 to advance to the quarter-finals of the men’s doubles as they seek another title having previous claimed the Mozambique F2 Futures Men’s doubles.

The two East African players are the tournament’s seed three. The Ugandan tennis ace will remain in Harare to play next week in the Zimbabwe F3 Futures tournament at the same venue.
