Uganda Rugby Cranes have risen on the World Rugby Rankings following their 40-11 win over Ivory Coast in the Africa Rugby tier 1B tournament on Sunday at Kyadondo Rugby Grounds.

Uganda’s victory warranted an increase of 1.32 rankings points moving four places above Sunday’s opponents Ivory Coast.

The Cranes needed 5 tries from vice captain Micheal Wokorach, eighth man Scott Oluoch, wing Lawrence Ssebuliba, blind side flanker  Ronald Musajjagulanyago and full back James Odong plus three penalties and two conversions from scrum-half Kevin Makmot to commence with the desirable result.

Uganda was originally at position 54 and now have settled 50th. Uganda had 44.68 points and now they boast of 46 points.

The 1995 Rugby World Cup (RWC) finalists, Ivory Coast fell three places from 48th to 51st while Colombia and Sweden benefited  moving up one place to 48th and 49th respectively.

Madagascar remained 45th in the overall rankings after their 26-18 win over Botswana. They however gained 0.29 points of a rating.
