Mbale region’s dominance of producing local Table Tennis stars is now self manifesting with the continued positive performances at several local and international events.

Mbale tennis athletes dominated the two days ended National schools Table Tennis championship held in Nabisuunsa girls’ school.

The event that started on Saturday had a total of 26 schools from different parts of the country 9 primary and 17 secondary schools was dominated by Mbale table tennis stars who took part in different age Teams category for both boys and girls under 10, 13, 16, and 19 played on individual and team event basis.

The winners from different team events and individuals in various age categories included; Manafwa High school Girls team beat Mbogo High on 3-1 sets and in boys teams events Mbogo collage defeated Kakungulu memorial school on 3-1 sets.

Meanwhile, in the finals of individual events, U-10 Girls category Jalia Nandudu of Maluku Primary eliminated Ikoru Kelly of Nabuyonga Primary School by 3-2 sets, and in the U-10 boys Brian Mayune of Maluku Primary School challenged fellow Maluku pupil Dennis Wambuya on 3-2.

Then U13 Girls Irene Nekesa of North road Primary School stopped fellow classmate Jenifer Butemi of North road Primary Mbale on 3-2 U-13 boys Semata Robin of Makindye Hope beat Zandya Ivan of North Road Primary School on 3-1 points and U-16 Girls Litah Nakumiza of Mbale Progressive School beat Alima Nambozo on 3-2, and U-16 Boys Idi Mumbarakah of Mbogo College beat Muzafali Samanya of Mbogo College on 3-1 sets

Finally in the U-19 Girls event, Ludia Natunga of Manafwa High School defeated Isiko Peace of Mbogo High 3-0, and the U 19 Boys Mango Ronald of Mbale Progressive beat Nambafu Emma of Kololo 3-2 sets.
