Dolphins swim club won the overall and men’s titles at the first Uganda Swimming Federation National Club Swimming Championships at Gems Cambridge International School, Uganda at Butabika, Luzira over the weekend.
Dolphins swim club ended the two day swimming championship with 2,276 points while Seals swim club, that won the women’s swimming crown finished second overall with 11,362.50 points with fast-rising Altona swim club finishing third with 393.50 points.
Sailfish Swim club, Shark Teens Swim Academy finished fourth, fifth with 273, 66 while Gliders swim club and 2000’s All Stars were sixth and seventh respectively with 64 and 42 points respectively.
The first swimming competition of it’s kind by the Uganda Swimming Federation attracted past national swimmers like Aya Nakitanda, Nana Nakiddu, Joel Shota Kisule, Gilbert Kaburu and Ganzi Mugula, who is now a member of Uganda Olympic Committee.
A total of 600 swimmers from various age groups took part in this two day swimming championships.
