KCC FC skipper Sakka Mpiima admits they put themselves in a difficult situation by losing their opening game to Azam FC but says they will reach the last eight.
Mpiima was an unused substitute in the 1-0 loss thanks to a John Bocco lone strike which implies that KCC FC must now beat Ethiopia’s Adama City on Wednesday to stay on course for a spot in the quarter finals.
“Losing the first game in a tournament is bad and we put ourselves in a tight situation without doubt,” he said.
Against Azam, I don’t think we played bad but the loss put us in a difficult situation but am confident we shall win our two remaining group games.
KCC FC finished fourth at last year’s tournament in Kigali despite losing their second game to Djibouti’s Telecom.
