Kenya lost their second match at the ongoing African Volleyball Championship in Egypt after Algeria defeated them in straight sets on Friday.

Kenya fell 25-17 in a first set as their block, reception and service completely failed to work.

The Geoffrey Omondi coached side fought back in the second, but couldn’t minimize their mistakes every time they had a slim lead. The set went into a deuce and Algeria came out on top 28-26.

Their resistance in the third bore no fruits as Algeria’s attacks, services and blocks forced Kenya into a surrendering mood, the North Africans won 25-23. On Wednesday, Egypt subjected Kenya to a straight sets loss with scores of 25-19, 25-14, 25-18.

Kenya’s last game in the preliminary round will be on Saturday against Botswana who lost to Egypt on Friday 3-0 (25-19, 25-14, 25-10) and suffered a similar loss to Algeria (16–25, 22–25, 13–25).

Tunisia beat Mauritius 3-0 (25-13, 25-13, 25-7) to win their first Pool B, they fell 3-2 (25-23, 12-25, 21-25, 25-22, 15-12) to Cameroon on Thursday.

However, Cameroon didn’t build on the victory as Morocco upset the West Africans 3-1 (25-18, 21-25, 30-28, 25-21) in the other Pool B game.
