The 1978 winners were massive in the opening minutes but faded as the game grew. Kawowo Sports’ Ismael Kiyonga rates each KCC FC player performance on the day.
Emmanuel Opio 6.0: You can’t blame him for the goal he conceded. Besides, he made two good saves to deny Khartoum and took minutes off with his time wasting antics at a time the opponents were in ascendency.
Denis Okot 6.0: Another good show from the right back as he kept the deadly Khartoum wingers at bay.
Joseph Ochaya 7.0: Restored at left back where he did well both offensively and defensively. He was unfortunate to miss on the score sheet as his fierce shot was parried by Khartoum goalie.
Hassan Wasswa 7.0: Beaten by the skillful Atif Khalid in the move that resulted into Ousmalia Baba goal but was alert all time bar that moment. He is proving to be massive signing for KCC FC.
Timothy Awany 7.0: The young centre back continues to grow into stature with each passing game. He was a colossus in defence and timed his tackles well.
Ivan Ntege 7.5: He capped the tournament with another good performance. The first name on the coaches’ lineup, Ntege continued to show his importance by nullifying the Atif Khalid threat.
Hakim Senkumba 6.5: He should have gotten on the score sheet at 2-1 but missed an opportunity with goalie beaten. However, he combined well with Ntege to thwart any dangers from the well-oiled Khartoum midfield.
Tom Masiko 7.0: The team captain played well taking the team forward but must take more responsibility especially in shooting areas.
Muzamiru Mutyaba 7.5: As usual, he was calm and composed when on the ball and improved his defensive duties when Khartoum was attacking. He was in the right place at the right time to score a second goal that eventually won KCC FC bronze.
Shaban Kondo 6.5: The only missing link in his game is goals but he led the line without fear. He held the ball well and his passing showed a lot of improvement.
Michael Birungi 8.0: Stupidly sent off after retaliation in an off the ball incident but actually won the game for KCC FC with a well taken goal and an assist.
Substitutes:
Owen Kasule 6.0: He held and passed the ball well when he came on for Ssenkumba.
