Netball World Cup:
- 7th – 16th August 2015
- Sydney, Australia
Uganda’s Netball world cup contingent of players and team officials reached Sydney in Australia on Sunday.
The team had been officially flagged off by President Yoweri Museveni Kaguta on Friday at the National Council of Sports (NCS) premises before they left the country the following day at noon.
President Museveni donated $1000 to each member of the 23 traveling contingent (12 players and 11 officials).

“Go and make us proud” Museveni appealed.
The team’s new head coach, Rashid Mubiru, who replaced Fred Mugerwa at the last minute after the Netball Federation made the shocking appointment promised a great showing.
We have trained well. The girls (players) are physically and emotionally strong to encounter the world’s finest.
Team skipper, Peace Proscovia, who turns out for the Loughborough Lightening club in the United Kingdom hailed the spirit by the president for the ‘pocket money’.
We trained well, had friendlies with several physically muscled men’s teams and this motivation by the president ($23,000) for the team is purely a good motivation
Peace will skipper the team assisted by Florence Amono.
Uganda Netball Federation (UNF) president, Suzan Anek thanked everybody who managed to assist the team preparations in every way possible and promised the payment will be in the good results
