Pool E: Malawi Vs Uganda Tuesday 10th Aug, 7:20am (Ugandan Time)

Uganda She cranes will begin their chase for a semifinal berth at the 2015 Netball World Cup against African counterparts Malawi at Netball Central.

The She Cranes made it into the last eight as runners up in Pool D having beaten Zambia and Fiji but fell to Wales while Malawi dominated Pool C to advance with a perfect record that saw them beat South Africa 58-51, Singapore 75-31 and scored a century passed Sri Lanka.

Uganda will be looking to inspirational captain and Goal Shooter Peace Proscovia to provide the spark with her shooting and hoping she minimizes the turnovers.

Coach, Rashid Mubiru has opted for Betty Namukasa and Florence Nanyonga ahead of Stella Nanteza since the opening game and the pair may start and will be expected to close Malawi’s attacking spaces and force errors out of a not so erotic Malawi side.

Ruth Meme has been fielded as the center player since the opening game with Halima Nakachwa as the Wing Attack and Mubiru will expect the pair to think for the team offensively and make those strong attacking moves to deliver the ball to Proscovia and Racheal Nanyonga.

Uganda played against Malawi in the tune to the World Cup at the Diamond Challenge a game the She Cranes lost.

Malawi who are currently ranked sixth go into the fixture as favourites and will be looking to shooters Mwayi Kimwenda and Sindi Simtowe as well as Jane Chimaliro and Joyce Mvula off the bench. Towera Vinkhumbo, Caroline Mtukule and Martha Dambo will be up to counter Uganda’s attack.

In other qualification games, South Africa will take on Wales and hosts Australia will face England in Pool F while New Zealand face Jamaica in what should be a close contest in the other Pool E match.

Other Qualification Fixtures:

South Africa Vs Wales     5:20am
New Zealand Vs Jamaica  11:20am
Australia Vs England       1:20pm
