Ugandan badminton ace Edwin Ekiring is expecting a top finish at the all Africa games slated for next month; September 4–19 in Congo Brazzaville.

Ekiring hopes to do better than the previous times he has competed at the championships having won Silver in Maputo, Mozambique in 2011 and Bronze in Algiers, Algeria in 2007.

“I know it will not be easy to win gold, but I will work hard to make sure I improve on the silver medal I got the last time,” he told Xinhua.

Ekiring has been playing at the World Badminton Championships in Jakarta, Indonesia as the only African in the men’s singles where he started on a high. He reached the second round of the World Championship before getting eliminated.
