Finally, the 2015-16 Uganda Premier League got underway over the weekend with four fixtures played.

Only two fixtures produced goals as six sides kept clean sheets but giants KCCA and champions Vipers SC started the league in style mauling their opponents.

KCCA through Paul Kisige own goal and others from Joseph Ochaya and Nelson Senkatuka beat bogey side Sadolin Paints 3-0 at Bugembe.

It was Coach Mike Mutebi first time in the dugout at a top tier side since the 2011/12 season when he coached SC Villa.

At Buikwe, champions Vipers SC needed a brace from Farouk Miya and a goal from new signing Brian Nkuubi to beat newcomers The Saints 3-0.

The champions were without head coach Edward Golola on the bench but that didn’t matter.

At Mutesa II stadium, Wankulukuku, Express FC yet again failed to win an opening league match after drawing 0-0 with Police FC.

The Red Eagles last achieved the feat in 2012/13 season when they beat Aurum Roses 4-0 at Nakivubo.

In the other game played, rivals Soana FC and Bright Stars also played to a goalless stalemate.

Action returns on Tuesday at various venues.
