  • Jinja Municipal Hippos Vs The Saints – Kakindu Stadium, Jinja (4:30 p.m)

Something unusual befell the Jinja skies during the last time Jinja Municipal Council Hippos hosted The Saints F.C back in October 2014 for the FUFA Big league duel.

The day started brightly, a cloudy environ engulfed the skies and then suddenly, there was a beautiful rain bow painted above the playing ground at Kakindu stadium for the entire duration of the game.

On the day, the visitors won 2-1 with a late Vianney Ssekajugo strike barely a few minutes to the full time mark.

Both sides, henceforth earned promotion to the elite league and face off for the first time in premier division at Kakindu stadium on Tuesday.

JMC has played two games so far, winning one (at home against nemesis Jinja outfit, Sadolin Paints) and losing the other to champions, Vipers sports club.

Their would be third game was pushed ahead on request of KCCA F.C who had three national team players (Muzamiru Mutyaba, Ivan Ntege and Joseph Ochaya) away on official duty when Uganda visited Comoros for the AFCON 2017 qualifier.

The Saints F.C lost their two opening games to Vipers S.C and KCCA F.C before picking a vital point away from home to Police F.C at Kavumba last week.

Harunah Kebba’s side currently lie 14th on the 16 team log coming into the fixture with a single point to show in the three games.

Newly confirmed team skipper, Fahad Kawooya (replaces ailing Bwiire) officially kick starts the commanding role with the JMC fixture, taking over the mantle from the hard tackling Nelson Ssempagala.

Season long loanee, Julius Malingumu is expected to partner Alex Kitata up front in the quest for the crucial goals.

Former SC Villa midfielder, Isaac Kirabira is back for contention after overcoming an ankle problem in a record time, and so is striker Godfrey Mugisha.

For the home side, Jinja fans have never disappointed when it comes to cheering their teams.

Against the Saints F.C, a record attendance is expected as James Odoch names the team that will play at home for the second time in the season.

Half cast striker, Akram Rajab and Mustapha Mugoya start the game as the two fore front men whose primary goal among others is to look for the back of the net.

Veteran Herbert Kakande is expected to make his experience count for something as he mann the midfield.

Overlapping stylish left back, Aggrey Madoi, a newly summoned Uganda Cranes CHAN member holds the mantle to defend and attack in equal measure with a goal at hand – prove why he was summoned for national duty.

The fixture kicks off at 4:30 p.m and it will be handled by referee, Ali Kaddu.
