Woodball For Journalists Competition: 12 Gates’ action

Away from the hectic and demanding newsroom and field chores, sports journalists will have a time to rest the pen and use the mallet at the ‘woodball for journalists competition’ this Sunday.
According to a memo released by the administrator, Uganda Woodball Federation (UWbF), John Baptist Kateregga, the competition will take place at the Makerere University Business School (MUBS) Nakawa based campus fair-ways over 12 gates.
The woodball for journalists competition will take place on Sunday, September 27, 2015 at MUBS – Nakawa starting at 1pm
There are great prizes lined up for the best performers in either gender.
Highly tipped journalists for the gong include; Inner-man F.M’s Solomon Ssaka, Urban Television’s Thomas Muruka, FUFA f.m’s Reagan Kyanda, Daniel Woolo Mayinja (Bilal F.M), Nicholas Kalyango (Vision Group – Bukedde, print), David Namunyala (The New Vision), Martin Kaddu (Red Pepper), Sumaya Nagawa (Magic F.M), Denis Mayega (Pearl F.M) and many others.

Meanwhile, the executive members of Uganda Woodball Federation (UWbF) will be guest competitors in the event.
Ahead of the Sunday championship, there is a joint training session planned for Saturday at the MUBS’ fairways.

The Woodball federation in Uganda is credited for building a positive rapport with the sports journalists along the way since the game was born 8 years ago.
The media has played a tremendous role to see Woodball grow across leaps and bounds in Uganda and it is the one of the reasons among others that the world’s Woodball governing body used to give the country the responsibility of seeing the game develop all over Africa.
