Aga Khan School stamped it’s authority in local school’s swimming by winning the 14th Excel Independence Swimming Gala at Kampala International School in Bukoto on Sunday.

Aga Khan School who fielded a team of 24 swimmers finished the two day gala with a overall score of 742 points to claim the overall team title and thus keep it’s dominance of local school’s swimming intact.

The school had 12 individual winners in various age categories in a gala that attracted 15 schools in and around Kampala. Greenhill Academy, finished runners-up with 584 points and had some impressive performances from their star swimmer Abba Mayanja, son to music star Joseph Mayanja(AKA Jose Chameleone), he was the best swimmer in the Under-10 boys category.

The host’s  Kampala International School of Uganda was third with 559 points. British School of Kampala and Makerere University Kampala completed the top five.
