15 votes was all Gor Mahia’s Meddie Kagere needed to emerge Sjak-SportPesa Player of the Month for September in Kenya.
Kagere beat Nairobi City Stars’ Gambian striker Ebrimah Sanneh (eight) and Meshack Karani of Chemelil Sugar (seven) to the accolade.
Kagere’s brilliance in the past month has been undeniably good as he spurred Gor Mahia to glory in their previous outings.
“I’m happy to have won. I didn’t do it alone but with the support of my team mates. September was one of my best months. I worked hard but I’m just doing my job,” he told media on Tuesday.
The star who started his career with Mbale Heroes FC at just 17 in Uganda revealed how memorable his accolade will be, promising to show it to his children.
“Winning the league title is a like another CV to me. It’s something I will show my children when they come of age.”
Kagere – Micheal Olunga pair has shone through for Gor Mahia Football Club bringing home the league trophy this season.
On Saturday, the outfit will expect more from the duo when they visit Tusker FC in the top 8 semi finals at the Afraha Stadium, Nakuru.
