It’s one thing to lose a game and another to make sure your opponent doesn’t break any sweat on their way to victory.

That was the situation as KAVC subjected Nemostars to their fourth National Volleyball League loss of the season with a 3-2 win on Friday night in Lugogo.

Nemostars approached with a game plan of two principle receivers in skipper George Aporu and Tom Paul Amou who were also meant to be the main attackers of the side.

A move that left acting coach with no solutions even after his side had a realistic chance of winning the game.

Nemostars showed great mental strength as they crawled from 11-16 down to win the first set 25-23.

KAVC drew level with a 25-15 win of the second as Nemostars attacking prowess, block and reception continued to fail them.

It was Daudi Okello who was inspiring the league holders with his attack, libero Elanyu Emmanuel, Ishaq Mugabi, substitutes Joel Endra and Richard Tamale made KAVC standout on reception and cover.

Nemostars pulled their act together and won the third set 25-21, but it was the fourth that exposed their amateurism, leading 22-17, KAVC’s Gabriel Yikita served until they sealed the set 25-22.

KAVC won the decisive 15-5, but with Nemostars making 12 points of those for the former who took their points tally to 35 and still second on the league log.

The Kololo side salvaged some pride when they won their Sunday tie 3-0 (25-21, 25-16, and 25-23) to take their points tally to 31 out of 14 games.

Nemostars leapfrogs Nkumba Navy to third position both teams tied on the same number of points but the former with a slightly superior set ratio of 1.1742 while that of Nkumba stands at 1.1649.

Nkumba lost their fourth game of the season to Sky 3-2, it was also the former’s 14th league outing.
