Simon ‘The Computer’ Lubulwa (Men) & Ritah Nimusiima (Women)

After triumphing at the 7th Kampala Open, men’s winner, Simon ‘The Computer’ Lubulwa has set his eyes to this weekend’s National Open Championship grand finale at Lugogo.

The Ntinda resident, who turns out for Nansana based club, Icon in the National League overcame 121 other players, majority of whom will be his opponents on Saturday

Christened ‘The Computer’ for his attacking prowess on the Pool Table, Lubulwa earned 10 seeding points for the success in the competitive Kampala Open.

Winning my first competitive tournament in life gives me the impetus to yearn for more glory especially the National Open, the league title and the upcoming December Christmas Cup

The teenager overcame fellow teen, Salim Akwankawasa 6-3 in a thrilling final that was watched by a record capacity lively crowd.

Lubulwa got the better of Mahammed Mayombo in the very first round, overcame seed 9 Musa Ssekiriba, seed 4 Sula Matovu 5-2 at the quarterfinal stage and Pool Cranes skipper Oscar Ocakacon in the semifinals, 5-3.

For Nimusiima, winning the Kampala Open in the women’s category for now the third time running was justification she is deserves to be the next Pool Queen.

Until I win the Pool Queen title, I will not rest. I want to prove to the doubting Thomases that i am number one in Uganda.

The Easter cup, Kampala Open Championship, National Open meet, Christmas Cup and the Pool Queen tournaments are all tournaments that the Pool body in the country, PAU uses to seed the positioning of all the players to determine their seed status.
