Konza, Kapiti and Lisa Farm will play host to the 36th edition of Guru Nanak Rally; the final round of the eight-leg Kenya National Rally Championship that holds the key to pending championship titles for 2015.
With the big title already taken by reigning ARC Champion Jaspreet Chatthe and his partner Gurdeep Panaser, spotlight now shifts to KNRC Division One, 2WD, Supplementary and Classic class which went down to the wire on the penultimate Nakuru tour.
Division one class will call for more impulses than others.
The class is a four way shootout between Jasmeet Chana, Mahesh Halai, Amaanraj Rai and Farhaaz Khan, who all have less than 10 points separating each of them.
Mathematically, all drivers must aim for maximum 25points to be crowned Div one champions.
With Jasmeet Chana leading Mahesh Halai with 8points, Chana has to only finish in top three position in the class to scoop the title.
Chana shared with kawowo sports about his anticipation of Guru Nanak.
“With the Division one championship down to the wire, I expect it to be a hot race.”
“Considering that the four of us will be leaving nothing to chance. No one knows what’s up the sleeves of my race adversaries but that will be know tomorrow when we head to Machakos County,” he said.
“My only technique will be flat-out so that I finish fifth overall, eventually winning the title,” he added.
Group N has Baldev Chager leading the class with only 3points ahead of Ian Duncan who will only count for a win to scoop the title.
Leonardo Varese and Eric Bengi will all be high for the 2WD title, with the former leading with 13points.
The Classic class will have Rob Hellier and Aslam Khan battling it out. Murage Wa Waigwa, James Kirimi and Chandrakant Devji will go head to head for the Supplementary class.
