Ismail Waliggo and Muhammed Sebina are the 2015 Two-wheel drive champions after registering maximum points in the independence rally last weekend.
Waliggo sealed his championship on day two of the Independence Rally after his rival Ismael Otega dropped out of the rally.
The Toyota Vitz driver needed 15points to be crowned champion.
However, Otega’s retirement from the Independence Rally worked to his favour after it assured him 20points.
Waliggo moved to 98points while Otega remains on 42points with two 2WD events remaining.
Waliggo shared with Kawowo Sports his excitement;
I told you this was my year, and i did everything to make sure that i win the title, and thank God i have it finally.
Am so excited to have achieved this in my first year of competitive rally, and credit this to my navigator and the whole crew.
Waliggo has so far won three rallies; Mbarara, Pearl and Independence Rally, dropping out from Jinja and CMC Rally.
His victory makes the Toyota Vitz the latest kind of car to scoop the 2WD title.
