Uganda Swimming Federation is getting set for the biggest swimming event on their calendar as they set to host the first CANA Zone III Invitational Swimming Championships from 11-13 December at Kampala International School of Uganda.

The local swimming governing body has sent invitations to Zone III member nations Burundi, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia, South Sudan together with Tanzania.

Other invites went to the nations of Angola, Botswana, Comoros, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, Swaziland, Zambia, Zimbabwe, that are members of Zone IV.

Each nation will field a total of two swimmers in the 136 swimming events that will be held over the three days of action at the Kampala International School of Uganda.

All the national swimming teams will be housed at the official hotel Hotel Africana.

Uganda hosted the CANA Zone III and Zone VI Swimming Championships last year and finished sixth out of the 11 countries that took part.
