All the sixteen countries that will participate at the third edition of African Nations Championship finals set for Rwanda between January 16th to February 7th 2016 are now known.
The development follows the last deciding qualifier between hosts Congo Brazzaville and Cameroon that had delayed because of an election in Congo.
On Saturday, 31st October 2015, the Indomitable Lions won away from home 1-0 seal the final slot, after the first leg had ended goal-less.
Njalla Quan Academy player, Ronald Ngah Wandja scored the only goal of the day in the 76th minute of the closely contested encounter.
Cameroon’s qualification arrived only hours after the failure to renew the contract of German Volker Finke on Friday.
Interim coach, Alexandre Belinga saw the successful qualification of the team to 2016 CHAN ahead of the 2018 World Cup qualifier against Niger coming in 10 days’ time.
On Friday, Ivory Coast edged rivals Ghana to the 15th slot with a 1-0 victory in Abijan courtesy of Davy Koffi Boua’s 35th minute strike.
The fixture had also been delayed by a week following a presidential election that witnessed the incumbent, President Alassane Ouattara winning a second five-year term in the highest political office on the land.
A week earlier, 12 teams had joined hosts, Rwanda and DR Congo (after withdrawal of Central African Republic) for the final tournament that will be staged in the country described by the land of 1000 hills.
The sixteen countries will be grouped on 15th November 2015 at the draws ceremony in Rwanda.
