*Ivory Coast qualify on away goal’s rule after 2-2 draw on aggregate

Ivory Coast on Friday became the 15th country to qualify for the third edition of African Nations Championship finals set for Rwanda between January 16th to February 7th 2016.

The Elephants won the return leg 1-0 at home to qualify 2-2 on aggregate on crucial away goal’s rule.

Davy Koffi Boua’s 35th minute effort was the lone strike on the day that helped the Ivorians make it at the 2016 continental show piece.

Having lost 2-1 in Kumasi seven days ago, Ivory Coast carried the day 1-0 in the Abijan return leg which had been delayed following a presidential election that witnessed the incumbent, President Alassane Ouattara winning a second five-year term in the highest political office on the land.

Last week, 12 teams joined hosts, Rwanda and DR Congo (after withdrawal of Central African Republic) for the final tournament that will be staged in the country described by the land of 1000 hills.

The qualified countries will be grouped on 18th November 2015 at the draws ceremony in Rwanda.

There is only one remaining qualifier between Congo Brazzaville and Cameroon that will be played on Saturday, 31st October 2015.

The first leg ended goal-less in Yaounde, Cameroon.
