Uganda’s top seed Duncan Mugabe cruised to victory on day four of the Uganda Open, qualifying for the semi finals of the showpiece thanks to his 6-1, 6-2 win against Edward Odonchen in the quarter final.

2010 and 2011 champion Mugabe, impressed again following a comfortable 6-1 6-0 win over Cricket Cranes’ all-rounder Jonathan Ssebanja in front of a handful of fans at Centre Court yesterday.

The day’s loser Edward Odockchen, came from a set down to beat Ruyange 3-6, 6-0, 6-4 but could not proceed to the next round today following an unsatisfactory performance.

In an interview with media, Mugabe said he still has hope to put up more of the great performances as he sails to the final to be crowned Champion.
