Ahead of the 2015/16 season that tips-off November 27, Patriots Basketball Club has acquired Espoir’s captain Aristide Mugabe on one-year deal.
The guard leaves Espoir after five years where he helped the team win three successive league championships from 2013 to 2015 as well as the Zone V Club Championships in 2012 that were hosted in Kampala.
Mugabe who also had a one year stint at CSK before returning to Espoir told The New Times he moved because he needed a new challenge and Patriots were the best option.
Yes I will play for Patriots next season. I am leaving Espoir because I needed a fresh challenge and I think Patriots can offer me that.
The acquisition of Mugabe could go a long way in helping last season’s losing finalists in dethroning Espoir – a side they lost to last year.
