TP Mazembe (DRC) 2-0 USM Algiers (Algeria) – [The DRC side win 4-1 on aggregate]
Tanzanian striker Mbwana Ally Samatta maintained his goal scoring form as he netted in the 2-0 for TP Mazembe against Algeria’s USM Algers to guide the DR Congo side to the 2015 CAF Champions League glory.
Samatta who had scored in the 2-1 away win in the first leg in Algeria gave the hosts a deserved lead in Lubumbashi on Sunday as he netted from the spot in the 75th minute before Roger Assale made it 2-0 in the final minutes of the game.
The victory in DR Congo imply the Les Corbeaux wins the championship 4-1 aggregate and it’s their first in five years having won their most recent before this year in 2010.
The triumph is their fifth in history of the competition having won it in 1967, 1968, 2009 and 2010.
TP Mazembe on top of winning the trophy also bagged US $ 1.5 million and will now represent Africa at the FIFA Club World Cup to be held in Japan in December this year.
Meanwhile, Samatta finishes the campaign with seven goals as the joint top scorer alongside El Hilal’s Bakri El Madina.
