Former Kenyan Rugby player Daniel Adongo, now playing American football in the United States has been promoted by his club, Colts, to active roster.
The Linebacker was raised from the practice squad, as rookie running back Josh Robinson was also waived according to NBC Sports.
Adongo had been a constant name on the team’s injured reserve list last season and the practice squad this season but now looks to be in line to feature in a couple of more encounters.
Robinson had fallen out of the rotation and Veteran Ahmad Bradshaw had taken most of the backup reps in recent weeks.
Adongo made his way to the States through the Colts in 2013 ahead of a training camp the club had embarked on. He was later called up from practice in December.
According the club’s website Adongo’s addition will give the Colts more depth to an already deep outside linebacker group.
He should have debuted last preseason in defensive setting, but he sustained a biceps injury that sidelined him to the reserves.
The Colts return to action on Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons in Georgia Dome, Atlanta, Georgia and Adongo is likely to make the squad that may take to the field.
