The last time Uganda and Senegal faced off was during the 2014 World Cup Qualifiers.
The first leg at Namboole ended in a one-all draw with Papiss Demba Cisse giving the Lions of Teranga the lead, before a late Godfrey Walusimbi penalty salvaged a point for Uganda.
Senegal won the return leg in Morococo 1-0 off a Sadio Mane strike with six minutes of normal time to play.
It’s along those lines that Cranes Custodian Denis Onyango wants to see Uganda drawn with Senegal ahead of the 2018 World Cup group qualifiers.
Onyango was speaking while appearing on Soccer Africa, a football show on South Africa’s based pay cable channel Supersport.
Onyango said after being asked by show host Sizwe Mabena;
I would love to play against Senegal again, we still have unfinished business with them
Uganda who are in Pot 3 with DR Congo, Nigeria, Mali, South Africa, have a chance of being drawn against any of Ivory Coast, Algeria, Ghana, Cape Verde, Tunisia who are in Pot 1.
Senegal who are Onyango’s wish are in Pot 2 alongside Congo, Guinea, Egypt, Cameroon while Pot 4 has Zambia, Morocco, Gabon, Burkina Faso, Libya.
Uganda managed to make it to the group stages of the qualifier after they defeated Togo 4-0 on aggregate with Onyango saving a penalty in the 1-0 victory of the first leg in Lome.
