The Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA) has set the date and venue for the draw for the group stage of the African 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.

The draws will be conducted in June 2016, in Cairo.

Part of the communication to various FIFA Member Associations sent by the Head of FIFA World Cup & Olympic Qualifiers & International Matches, Gordon Savic reads;

We would like to congratulate your respective national teams for qualifying for the 3rd round of the African 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers. In this respect, please note that the draw date and location for the 3rd round have been jointly agreed by FIFA and CAF, namely on 24th June 2016 in Cairo.

Uganda is in Pot 3 along with DR Congo, Nigeria, Mali and South Africa

Uganda Cranes knocked out Togo 4-0 on aggregate to make it to the group stages of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.

The Pots: 
Pot 1: Ivory Coast, Algeria, Ghana, Cape Verde, Tunisia
Pot 2: Senegal, Congo, Guinea, Egypt, Cameroon
Pot 3: DR Congo, Nigeria, Mali, Uganda, South Africa
Pot 4: Zambia, Morocco, Gabon, Burkina Faso, Libya
