After successful completion of medicals at Sudanese club, Al Khartoum Watani F.C in September 2015, Ugandan midfielder, Michael Birungi has successfully put pen to paper for a two year deal.

The former Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Football Club midfielder was involved in a series of negotiations.

He signed the deal on Monday in Khartoum witnessed by Izz al-Din al-Hajj, the general manager of the club and Hisham Abdel Latif, director of football together with KCCA Chief Executive Officer (CEO), David Tamale.

The former UTODA Football Club player joins former KCCA F.C goalkeeper, Salim Jamal who also plays professional football in Sudan with El Merriekh Football Club.

Kawowo Sports has established Al Khartoum Watani F.C tabled $20,000 as the sign on fee for the player with $1000 per month on top of other match bonuses.

According to Goan Sports, a web portal in Sudan, Al Khartoum Watani has also signed Mubarak Ahli and former Razak player Amal Atbara, Nader Khalifa and Jonas torch Argo.

Former Ghana Black Star coach Steven Appiah is head coach at the Sudanese club.
