Uganda Woodball Federation President, Paul Mark Kayongo became the second African to be elected as the vice president of the International Woodball Federation (IWbF).

Kayongo’s feat was confirmed at the body’s elective general assembly that took place at Kaohsiung, Taiwan.

The Ndejje University bursar replaces Peninah Kabenge, another Ugandan, who had held the seat since 2009.

Kayongo has been a member on the finance committee of the International Woodball Federation since 2013 for a term of two years.

Ming Weng Lin was elected president for the next term of four years.

As the Vice President elect, Kayongo immediate task among others is to take charge of the African Woodball development.

The Assembly also approved the setting up of a new African Woodball Federation whereby the President should be the Vice President of the IWbF in charge of Africa.

This automatically implies that Kayongo will also serve as the President for the Africa Woodball Federation for the next 4 years.

He will be working with other recognized African countries such as Cameroon, Gabon, Kenya, Malawi, South Africa and Sierra Leone.

To this cause, Kayongo has set up the first ever African Woodball Workshop scheduled to take place from 27-29 February 2015. This Workshop will target 25 African Countries to include 5 countries from each African Region.
