After missing game one of the National Volleyball League playoffs on Wednesday, Daudi Okello returned to inspire KAVC to a 3-1 win over Nemostars on Friday at Lugogo.

Okello didn’t start the game as Jensen Chestit took his place until when the latter developed cramps while his side led 17-12.

Okello came on for Chestit and did not only make numbers, his impact was felt in his attacks as KAVC ran off with the first set 25-20.

Okello continued to be the go-to man for KAVC in the second set. Despite Nemostars enjoying short leads, the number 13 in the red and blue strip decided tough moments with his attack.

While he was at it, George Aporu was also at it for the men in white and blue, went all the way for their sides.

Aporu and company eventually won the set 30-28, in the process leveling the game 1-1.

But KAVC suffered a second setback of the game as one of their three setters Aime Ntakimuruta injured his finger.

KAVC took command of the game by taking the third set 25-21, and it was that momentum that they started the fourth with.

KAVC improved their block and attack, areas Nemostars didn’t have answers for and KAVC took the forth set 25-21 and seal the game 3-1.

The two teams will meet in the do or die game three on Sunday at MUBS.
