- Lweza F.C 2-2 Elites F.C
Kampala Elites Football Team have held Uganda Premier League club, Lweza F.C to a 2-all draw in a build up match at the St Mary’s College, Kisubi play ground on Saturday morning.
Elites, a collection of several Premier League players were a true test to Lweza as they stretched the Kajjansi based side to the limit.
Forwards Steven Bengo and Yasin Mugume gave the Elites a deserved lead in the first 40 minutes of the game before veteran striker, Geofrey Sserunkuma pulled one back for Lweza at the stroke of half time.
Left winger Ddumba Sadala, who replaced Mike Sserumaga at the start of the second stanza of the game saved Lweza from an eminent defeat with the equalizer towards the game death.
Former KCCA head coach, Abdullah Mubiru had an enterprising 45 minute display in the game where Lweza director, Ahmed ‘Opa’ Ddamulira exhibited great ball dribbling tactics.
Joseph Mutyaba, head coach at Lweza F.C used two different sets of players for either half played at a neutral SMACK play ground in Kisubi.
Meanwhile his assistant, Hamza Kalanzi who arrived late for the game kept at one side of the vast playing facility.
In the second half, Lweza’s young midfielder, Yoweri Kisakye gave a great account of himself – a bold statement of intent to the technical team to be considered as the league matches resume in December for the club.
The Elites side had the likes of Yasin Mugabi in goal, Saka Mpiima, Isaac Ntege, Hakim Ssenkumba, Paul Mucureezi, Ayub Kizza, Tom Matisko and a host of other players.
Lweza F.C is preparing for the December 8 Uganda Premier League fixture against Bright Stars at Matugga.
