The state of two Uganda Cranes players, Okot Denis and Hassan Wasswa Dazo  who were admitted at Nakasero International Hospital following the motor accident that involved the team bus and a commuter taxi at Jami Trading centre along the Mbale-Tirinyi road on Tuesday afternoon, remains promising.

The duo received treatment at Nakasero on the orders of the Government and were discharged.

FUFA Head of communications, Ahmed Hussein told Kawowo Sports;

After getting first aid treatment on the scene of the accident, the two were rushed back to Kampala to get further examination. Their condition is good and there are no worries at all.

Team doctor Ronald Kisolo and physiotherapist Ivan Ssewanyana treated the affected Cranes players and officials on the scene of the accident before boarding on another vehicle to Kampala.

The accident occurred on Tuesday at around 3:30 p.m when the team was returning from Soroti State Lodge where they had met the president.

Government of Uganda through the Ministry of Sports has also promised to compensate the victims of the fatal accident that claimed six lives (all of whom were in the commuter taxi).

FUFA, perhaps remains tight lipped on the state of the dead.

“We can not make a statement on the other side (casualties in the taxi). It is police to comment on the general accident” the federation spokesman, who was also injured in the accident added.
