KCCA F.C vs. SCVU, 4:30pm – Luzira Prison Grounds

KCCA F.C resumes the quest for their 11th league title on Friday 11th December at Luzira Prisons Grounds against Sports club Victoria University.

The ‘kasasiro boys’ will be without defender Hassan Wasswa Dazo and right back Denis Okot who were both involved in an accident that cost the lives of 6 people on Tuesday.

The pair was part of the Cranes team returning from Sorori where they had gone to meet the president.

Without doubt coach, Mike Mutebi and his assistant Sam Simbwa will greatly miss the services of those two players especially against an attack minded SCVU.

“We are taking this game as it comes. SCVU is known for its precision but we don’t fear them. We just respect them. The absence of our two players Hassan Wasswa Dazo and Denis Okot might affect us but not that much” stated a rather wary but confident Sam Simbwa

The two men in charge however, will be delighted to receive the other three players – Joseph Ochaya, midfielder Muzamuri Mutyaba and the young striker Nelson ‘Nelly’ Ssenkatuka back to the team.

The trio alongside Hassan Wasswa Dazo and Denis Okot were part of the CECAFA Cranes winning team in Ethiopia.

Prior to CECAFA, KCCA won their home game 1-0 against the Jinja based club JMC hippos, a result that ensured they maintained their top of the table status on 24 points, 4 clear of Vipers the defending champions.

The 10 time league champions will be hoping for the same outcome tomorrow against the University side if they are to increase their chances of getting hold of the title they last won 2 seasons ago.

Joseph Ochaya has been in blistering form and is expected to maintain his current form that has seen him being recalled in the National team if they are to continue with their winning ways.

Mutyaba is expected to carry the same intelligence he exhibited in the finals of CECAFA against Rwanda where he scooped the man of the match award, to this game in order to destabilize a rather shaky Victoria defense thus creating spaces for striker Nelson Ssenkatuka to operate in.

Meanwhile, 10th placed SCVC will be seeking for their 4th win of the season. Their last league game against JMC Hippos was abandoned due heavy downpour.
