Former Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper, Mark Anderson believes Dennis Onyango is one of the best goalkeepers in South Africa’s Premier Soccer League.

Sundowns’ coach, Pitso Mosimane has shared the goalkeeping duties at the club between Uganda Cranes shot stopper Onyango, South African, Wayne Sandilands and Zambian, Kennedy Mweene but the Ugandan is the preferred choice.

Mark Anderson, also former Bafana Bafana shot-stopper believes that The Brazilians’ rear guard is one of the top three in the league.

Anderson told Soccer Laduma;

I only worked with him (Onyango) for a month and I must say I was thoroughly impressed with what I saw in the guy. Despite winning league titles with SuperSport, he was such a humble, down-to-earth, hardworking professional with so much talent

It didn’t take long for me to predict a bright future for him (Onyango) at Sundowns because of his discipline and commitment. He’s a natural, born goalkeeper and very similar to Wayne (Sandilands) in nature – very humble, disciplined, focused and keen to do what they are getting paid to do.

Onyango has been impressive for the Uganda Cranes through the 2017 AFCON Qualifiers as well as the 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers saving a couple of penalties.
