2015/16 Uganda Premier League:
- Bul F.C 1-0 KCCA F.C
An injury hit Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) football club has for the first time in the current season lost a league fixture three days after falling 1-0 to Jinja side, BUL F.C at the Kakindu stadium on Tuesday.
The unfortunate result came away from home to a determined BUL F.C side coached by Alex Isabirye.
Milton Karisa’s first half well headed goal off Umar Mukobe’s curling corner was the all important goal for the home side that had lost three days earlier to Jinja nemesis, Jinja Municipal Council Hippos football club.
Kalisa’s goal arrived on the quarter hour mark – against the run of play at a time when KCCA F.C assistant coach, Sam Ssimbwa had just settled on the bench after arriving late for the match.
KCCA F.C started the game with only four substitute players on the bench – two of whom were goal keepers – Yasin Mugabi and Emmanuel Opio.
The others were Sulaiman Akimenyi and Farouk Matovu.
Four minutes to the half time break, KCCA F.C striker, Ivan Sserunkuma perfectly rounded off goalie, Emmanuel Kalyowa but missed target from close range.
The opening minutes of the second stanza were dominated by the home side and were unfortunate not to double the lead when striker Wakalaita scored but the effort was ruled out for off side in the 63rd minute.
Mutebi called for his team’s first and only change of the game – introducing Nigerian striker Akimenyi for Habibu Kavuma after 70 minutes.
Two minutes later, his opposite number at BUL, Isabirye called for the opening change after 72nd minutes.
Midfielder Yunus Sibira who started in the loss against JMC replaced skipper Augustine Nsumba in the 72nd minute and Kiiza David replaced Johnson Wakalaita with 13 minutes left on the clock.
Despite the loss, coach Mike Mutebi and Sam Ssimbwa’s side still leads the 16 team log with 27 points, three off second placed Vipers Sports Club.
For BUL F.C’s 6th victory of the campaign from 13 outings, the side climbs to 5th on 20 points with two games to the end of regular season.
