For the umpteenth time at the National Inter-University games in Uganda, Woodball has been a ‘household item’ for team Ndejje.

Besides, the 2008 games where Kyambogo won the event, the rest of the editions have been overwhelmingly won by the Luweero based institution.

Even after the graduation of the cream de-la-cream of the sport in Lillian Zawedde and Onesmas Atamba, the institution has made success in the sport a continuous habit.

At the 2015 games in Busoga university, Ndejje convincingly won both the overall men and women gold medals – thanks to the collective team effort of the players.

One of the team’s top players, Collins Kamoga attested the glory path of the university to Kawowo Sports;

We have been training a lot. Everyday, an hour or two is dedicated to training and besides, we have the equipment at the disposal

Ndejje won gold in the men and women single stroke competition thanks to Ronald Kawumba and Joan Mukoova.

Joel Adupa and Ronald Kawumba combined forces to take the men doubles’ event as so did Joyce Nalubega and Joan Mukoova.

Hosts, Busoga university, who played second fiddle for most of the events, managed to win gold in the women doubles – thanks to the superb combination of Deborah Alice Amoding and Ruth Nakidodo.

UCU’s Wilson Musinguzi beat Busoga’s Richard Agaba to the fair way competition gold medal.

Mixed Doubles:

UCU’s Janet Mpambara and Adednego Okello edged the pair of Cate Jacenta Nalubega and Bob Musasizi (MUBS) to the mixed double’s precious gold medal.

Racheal Ninsiima and Aggrey Akampa, playing for the host University, Busoga combined energy and mallet ideas to take bronze.

The event was organized with the technical expertise of the Uganda Woodball Federation (UWbF).
