Uganda lady Woodball player, Lillian Zawedde is now ranked 8th according to the latest global rankings released by the International Woodball Federation (IWbF).

Zawedde is the only African ranked among the top 30 players – going without saying she is the best lady Woodball player in Africa.

An excited Zawedde attested to Kawowo Sports that her endless engagement in international competitions has helped her gradual ascendancy.

I am so happy for the improved ranking from 13th. I will continue to participate in the internationally recognized competitions and better the rankings

The burly player who also engages in basketball is 8th in the world with 152.5 points.

Hong Kong’s Wong Nga Chun leads the female standings on 268.1 points.

Her country-mates, Chung Chui Ting and Winnie Wong Wan Sze take the other positions in the 2 and 3rd slots respectively.

Zawedde participated in the China, Singapore and Malaysia and Korean International tournaments in the year 2015.

She was recently voted the Best lady Woodball player by the Uganda Woodball Federation for the umpteenth time during the glamorous Awards held at Hotel African in Kampala.

She was also among the top performers with 1 Gold, Silver and Bronze medals apiece at the 7th Uganda Woodball Open played at the Kisubi Technical Institute, off Entebbe road.

 Zawedde has now set focus towards attaining a top three finish by the close of business of 2016.
