Association of Uganda University Sports (AUUS) has revealed that a team of netballers will be sent to Florida, USA to feature in the 2016 World University Netball Championship.

President Peninah Kabenge announced the plan in an interview with New Vision, saying the squad will comprise the best in an bid to garner the top honours at the showpiece.

“We have planned for the championship and hope to do well. We have a strong team,” she said.

Uganda last made it to the tournament in 2012, held in South Africa and all focus to make another appearance between scheduled dates, 13th to 17th July.

Ruth Meeme from Makerere University Business School (MUBS), Nkumba’s Susan Mukala and Kampala International University’s Susan Atino are the top names that have already been shortisted to travel to the the southeasternmost U.S. state.

Meme will look forward to producing another impressive performance after excelling at the Netball World Cup where Uganda finished eighth out of sixteen teams.
