Awany earns first Uganda Cranes cap against Gabon | Build up match

Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) football club youthful defender, Timothy Awany is set to earn his first cap with the Cranes Uganda faces Gabon in the first of the two team’s build up games behind the Championship of African Nations (CHAN) tournament due in Rwanda.

The calm KCCA player starts in the international build against the West Africans in the 20 man team for the Cranes.

He is the only uncapped player on the team.

Three players; Geofrey Sserunkuma, goal keeper James Alitho and Martin Kizza will be considered for the Cameroon build up on Wednesday.

Match referees:

The match will be handled by Uganda’s FIFA referees. Alex Muhabi was assigned to handle the game as the centre referee.

He will be assisted by Mark Ssonko (first assistant) and Okello Lee (second assistant).

Dennis Batte is the reserve referee whilst Catherine Adipo will be the match commissioner and referees’ assessor.

Kick off is 3: 00 p.m.
