Benson Ociti signed a two year contract with Kenyan Premier League (KPL) side Chemelil Sugar FC on Tuesday.
The former URA, Police and Soana football club lanky striker has been a free agent since the close of business of the 2014/15 season.
Ociti traveled to the Awasi based side with his representative cum agent, Ronnie Santos and held successful trials.
He becomes head Coach Francis Baraza’s recent signing and the most expensive acquisition in the history of the club.
Chemelil Sugar Company Limited Public Relations Manager Bosco Magare, also the club secretary was left impressed by the awesome talent of the player. As quoted by the Kenyan media, he noted;
Discussions were great and we are glad to have the player.
Ociit said;
It is a great opportunity and I promise to give my best. I am here to score goals and that’s what I want to do.
Meanwhile the coach Baraza challenged the player to remain focused, and fight for the team and for his own future.
For the days I have been with him in training, he has shown a lot of potential, just a few areas to work on, especially his fitness levels and he will be good to go. I want to challenge his to maintain the focus he has shown in training.
Ociti has an awesome first touch on the ball, he is a team player, can dribble and head the ball with ease as well as execute fancy crosses down the flanks.
Perhaps, he still needs to polish on the work ethic once on the field of play.
Detailed financial terms between the player and the club could be readily available.
