Uganda Cranes midfielder Geoffrey Baba Kizito has began trials at top Spanish La Liga side Malaga ahead of a possible 3 year deal to play for the outfit if he passes.

The industrious 22-year-old commenced with a friendly, his new found team battling Ukrainian opposition Dinamo Kiev, and according to agent and former Barcelona star Rayco Garcia, the former Gor Mahia midfielder impressed.

“Baba played well in the match and impressed everyone. At some point he had a thunderous shot veer off the post and for a moment everyone thought it had gone in,” Garcia revealed to AfriStars.

After a spell with Vietnamese side Than Quang Ninh, Kizito is now in line to become the first Ugandan to play professional Football in Spain. He will spend an entire week at the club.

Before travelling to the port city on southern Spain’s Costa del Sol, Kizito vowed to put in his best shift with clear intentions of showing all he’s got.

“I thank Rayco for giving me this opportunity. I will give my best during the trials and hopefully secure a move to Spain,” Kizito told New Vision.

Santi Cazorla, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Nacho Monreal and many others are among the players whose footsteps Baba will follow if he completes the move to the top division side.
