On the final day of the transfer window, Sudanese Premier League club, Merriek Kosti F.C dug deep their financial coffers and parted with $8000 to secure the services of pacy winger, Hamza Olema from South Sudan champions, Atlabara Football Club.
This follows Atlabara’s earlier move to block the diminutive but intelligent winger’s move to the Khartoum based club.
After negotiations and consultations that involved FUFA, the player was finally released on January 31st (secondary transfer deadline) after Kosti paid $8000 (about Ugx. 27M), the financial figure that had been put in the contract as the buy out clause.
Communicating to Kawowo Sports from Khartoum, an excited Olema praised Allah for everything;
The move was supposed to be completed in December 2015, but those guys (Atlabara F.C) failed to release me saying I have a contract with them yet I was signed as an amateur. After traveling to Kampala, FUFA engaged both clubs and I am happy, the deal was now completed. I promise to work hard and succeed further. It is all Allah’s work and I glorify Him.
Olema’s transfer means he is the third Ugandan to join the Sudanese Premier League in the recent times.
Michael Birungi completed his move to the Sudan Premier League with Al Khartoum Watani F.C from KCCA F.C in October 2015.
Uganda Cranes and Kobs goalkeeper, Salim Jamal is the other Ugandan in Sudan with El Merriek F.C.
Financial Details For Olema’s Deal:
Olema will pocket $18,000 sign on fees, $800 salary per month with 450 Sudanese pounds per game featured.
Key of his strong pillars once on the field of play is the ability to dribble, shot at all ranges and decent crosses from either flanks.
