SC Villa Vs Tusker FC – Nakivubo stadium @ 4pm

The highly anticipated friendly clash between SC Villa and KPL giants Gor Mahia has been cancelled.

The two sides were set to face off at Nakivubo War Memorial stadium on Wednesday but according to SC Villa Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ivan Kakembo, they will instead play another Kenyan side; Tusker FC.

“Gor Mahia FC are not coming,” Kakembo confirmed to Kawowo Sports. “We shall instead have a friendly as scheduled on Wednesday against Tusker FC; another Kenyan club,” he added.

On why the clash against K’Ogalo has been cancelled, Kakembo said.

“They wrote to us seeking a friendly match which we accepted but they again wrote saying they won’t make it. With Tusker already in the country, it was easy for us to organize.”

Tusker has so far played two friendly games in Uganda; drawing 0-0 with Vipers on Saturday and then losing 1-0 to JMC Hippos.

They are set to play against another Jinja based UPL side Sadolin Paints on Tuesday at Bugembe.

SC Villa will use the match to fine tune their side ahead of their CAF Confederations Cup tie against Sudan’s Al Khartoum as well as the second round of the league.

Tusker FC is home to ex-SC Villa skipper Anthony Ndolo, left back Fred Nkata and is coached by former SC Villa, URA FC and Express FC tactician Paul ‘Latest’ Nkata.
