Dusman Okee has been voted new president of the Federation of Motorsport Uganda for the next four years.
 
He saw off the challenge of now former president Jack Wavamuno in the general election held this afternoon at the Lugogo Indoor Stadium.
 
Okee won the tightly contested 3 way race by just one vote over Wavamuno.
 
Out of the 83 FMU delegates who voted, Okee got 33, Wavamuno 32 while Kisitu Mayanja 18 votes.
 
Okee has now elevated from the position of vice president which he had held for the last two years.
 
In his maiden speech after being elected, Okee said his first two tasks will be to sustain sponsors and ensure safety in the sport;
 
My first task is to handle the sponsors, for a long time we have not been sustaining our sponsors for long. Second I will strengthen the safety in the sport which will lead to more people joining us.
 
Okee becomes the fifth president ever since FMU broke away from AAU.
 
In other positions, Hajj Hamid Gombe was elected new Vice president beating Herbert Rutagwera.

Deputy Vice president motorsport is Jeff Kabagambe while Shemmy Senkatuka won the Deputy Vice president Vintage and touring.
 
General Secretary went to Joseph Mwangala who won by 11 votes and Ernest Zziwa was voted the Assistant general secretary
