For the first time this season, Loughborough Lightening netball club will host a league fixture at their home fortress of the David Wallace Arena this Saturday.
The club, home to Uganda’s netball She Cranes captain, Peace Proscovia, will be engaged in a double header – first on Saturday and then after 42 hours.
Both games will be played at the university campus arena.
On Saturday, Lightening will entertain tricky opponents, Dragon Celtics in a highly anticipated physical clash.
48 hours later, they will be hosting Manchester Thunders at their own grave yard.
Earlier, Lightening has played two away games recording one loss and victory apiece.
In the opening game of the season played at the onset of the February, Loughborough Lightening won 65-34 over Yorkshire in a one sided encounter played at the
Seven days later, they succumbed to the Mavericks, losing 48-44 in Hertfordshire City.
At home, with the expectant home fans in full gear, Coach Karen Atkinson will once again look to the sharp shooting prowess of the lanky Ugandan, Peace Proscovia for inspiration.
Student, Vanessa Walker and the university alumnus Ama Agbeze are two other players that the home team will forward to.
Hannah Joseph, another University old student is expected to provide the back cover alongside, Jo, Natalie Panagarry, Rachel Sweet and the diligent center player, Sasha Corbin.
