Masavu F.C 2-2 Lweza F.C

FUFA Big League club, Masavu F.C and Uganda Premier League Lweza F.C played to a 2 all draw in a friendly match played on Tuesday morning at the lake side Katabi Gombolola play ground in Entebbe.

Peter Lumollo gave Masavu a deserved lead after a quarter an hour of action that followed a fancy build up that involved Charles Odeke and Onesmas Andama.

For the rest of the half, there were a series of half chances from either side and the half time ended in command of the home team.

At the onset of the second half, Lumollo stretched the lead following a clever zero pass by Kenneth Tumusiime after Livingstone Kawuma’s cross from the right.

Both sides made a couple of changes as the game progressed. Lweza forward, Geoffrey Sserunkuma, fresh from the 2016 CHAN tournament in Rwanda with the Uganda Cranes paved way for new signing, Mustapha Kiragga. Right back Henry Wamala replaced Peter Ssempagama as the tried and tested striker Fred Kalanzi came in for a wasteful Sula Bagala. Dribbling winger, John Kisakye completed the changes for the visitors for the visiting team when he came in for Moses Ndawula.

Rajab Kakooza pulled a goal back following a defence splitting cross from Kisakye. Later, another new signing Paddy Muhumuza replaced Rajab Kakooza as Francis Sembatya was the right cover for Juma Balinya’s tired legs. The changes further produced an instant impact with a well worked out headed goal from Mustapha Kiragga after excellent footwork on the left.

The goal was a panic button for Masavu with a couple of changes in a desperate quest to preserve the score-line. Goal hero Lumolo was rested for right footed diminutive winger, Fred Omony. Yasin Ssali came in for the lanky Charles Odeke, Yunus Kasozi for Kenneth Tumusiime, Robert Sentongo Junior replaced Onesmas Andama, Sulaiman Majaajalo for Musa Kayondo and Abbas Kateregga paved way for midfielder Abdul Aziz Kio

Later, Omony who had first replaced Lumollo, too was also substituted for Tom Hille.

Both clubs are preparing for their second round respective away matches in the league. Lweza travels to Kavumba Recreational Stadium to play Police F.C in the Uganda Premier League as Masavu will be away to Masaka Recreational Stadium in a Big league duel against Synergy F.C.
