Soana Football club has acknowledged having sanctioned the release of midfielder, Steven Bengo to Kenya for a semi-professional stint.

Bengo’s transfer to Nakumatt F.C in the mid-season epoch was as muted as silence at a long deserted grave yard.

“The club management is aware of Bengo’s travel and they wished him the best” team head coach, Charles Ayiekho Lukula confirmed to Kawowo Sports.

Club director, Smart Obedi is said to have engineered the move that reportedly fetched the club $10,000.

“Bengo left for Kenya although the public was not notified. Hopefully he delievers and the club wishes him the very best” Obedi added.

The stocky but intelligent dribbling midfielder was signed from Sports Club Villa after he was released by the Jogoos at the end of the 2014/15 season.

As replacement, the club acquired Simon Okwi and Musa Esenu from Bul and MUBS respectively.

Goalkeeper, Eric Dhaira was the other mid-season signing for the club.

He has previously featured for Jogoo Young, KCCA F.C and Simba F.C in the Tanzania Premier League.

He joins a long catalogue of Ugandans plying their trade in the top flight Kenyan premier league.

Daniel Sserunkuma, Musa Mudde (Bandari), Aucho Khalid, Godfrey Walusimbi (Gor Mahia), Ronald Musana, Shafik Batambuze, Fred Nkata, Ronald Musana (Tusker F.C), Benson Ociti, Harris Kajubi, Suudi Kayemba (Chemilil Sugars), Jimmy Bageya are some of the high profile Ugandan players in the Kenyan league.
